The Making of the Mob is an American television miniseries. The first season, subtitled "The Making of the Mob: New York", is an eight-part mini-series based on the notorious New York gangster Lucky Luciano and his rise in the New York City crime mob. It is produced by Stephen David and premiered on June 15, 2015, on AMC.

It begins in 1905 and spans more than 50 years, tracing the original five families that led to the modern American Mafia. It was renewed by AMC for a second season of eight episodes, titled The Making of The Mob: Chicago, and will premiere in 2016.

Season 2 will document the emergence of organized crime in the American Midwest through the rise and fall of the iconic gangster Al Capone.
