Mystery Science Theater 3000

Pilot produced for KTMA TV23 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This half-hour dry-run pilot featured riffing on only a portion of the movie and some rudimentary host segments. It was never shown on television and no fan copy is known to exist. However, the primitive "door sequence" and what appears to be the opening host segment, is featured in the MST3K Scrapbook tape, once sold by Best Brains, and it the pilot in its entirety was shown by Joel Hodgson at a convention appearance by Cinematic Titanic. Never aired, production still for TV23 places production date as 10/3/88 Original film made in 1969. (NOTE: Please note this is an entry for the original pilot itself.
